Trongsa

About 4 hours drive towards east from Wangdue Phodrang is the ancestral home of the Kings of Bhutan. Trongsa is linked with momentous events in the history of Bhutan and it is from here that the first King of Bhutan ruled the country.
Trongsa literally means “new town” in the native language and over time the township has developed.
