Sarpang is a cosmopolitan settlement with its native people arising from ethnically diverse origins. The diverse population gives visitors an interesting cultural experience with a wealth of disparate religions and traditions.
Sarpang also has rich biodiversity and the area is widely covered in an environmentally protected area; Phibsoo Wildlife Sanctuary in the west, Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park to the north and the Royal Manas Park in the southeast. One of the domestic airports will soon operate from this area.
